Edit build your bundle quick action

Redirect bundle subscribers straight to editing their upcoming bundle, without the extra click.

Edit build your bundle is a quick action that takes subscribers directly to the edit page of their upcoming Build your own bundle (BYOB), instead of routing them through customer portal's subscription details page. It removes the guesswork of finding the right screen, so bundle-first brands can send subscribers straight into the edit flow from any notification.

When to use this quick action

Use Edit build your bundle when you want to:

  • Prompt subscribers to edit their bundle before an upcoming order, while there is still time to change what ships.

  • Invite subscribers to personalize their bundle right after the subscription is created, resumed, or reactivated.

How to create and configure the quick action

  1. Navigate to Loop admin > Retain > Quick actions, then click Create new quick action.

  2. Under Action type, select Edit Build your bundle.

  3. Add an Action name. This is for internal reference only and is not visible to subscribers.

  4. Note the auto-generated Action key (Loop notifications) and Action key (Klaviyo). You'll use these to reference the quick action link in notification payloads.

  5. Under Supported events, select the subscription events where you want this quick action link available: Subscription created, Subscription resumed, Upcoming order reminder, or Subscription reactivated.

  6. Click Save.

Note: This quick action works only for Build your own bundle subscriptions, not for the Preset fixed bundle type.

Where to use the quick action URL

Use it in Loop notifications

Find your Loop emails at Settings > Notifications > Emails. Open the relevant notification and add the quick action URL variable to a button or link.

Use it in 3rd party tools like Klaviyo

Add the quick action variable (for example, {{ event.quickAction_ }}) to a button or link in your Klaviyo email or flow. The variable populates once the corresponding event fires for that subscriber.

Subscriber experience

When a subscriber clicks the link, the quick action identifies the bundle in their subscription and redirects them straight to that bundle's edit page. The link is pre-authenticated using the same token mechanism as your existing customer portal links, so subscribers land ready to edit without logging in again.

Considerations

  • The link only works while the subscription is Active. If it isn't, the link redirects to the subscription details page instead.

  • If the bundle is moved to Draft or Deleted, the link takes the subscriber to the subscription details page.

  • If there's no BYOB, or more than one BYOB, in the subscription when the subscriber clicks the link, they land on the subscription details page.

  • This quick action is not supported for prepaid subscriptions.

FAQs

When does the link expire, and what happens on expiry?

The link expires automatically once the subscriber edits the bundle. After that, they're redirected to the login page with a link expired message, where they can request a magic link to log back in.

Can I use this quick action for preset fixed bundles?

No, this quick action works only for Build your own bundle subscriptions. Subscribers on a preset fixed bundle are redirected to the subscription details page instead.

Can I use this quick action for prepaid subscriptions?

No, this quick action is not supported for prepaid subscriptions.

What happens if a subscriber's bundle can no longer be edited?

Subscribers are redirected to the subscription details page instead of hitting a dead end.
