Delay order quick action

Learn how to use delay order quick action and let your subscribers postpone deliveries easily without interrupting their subscription cycle.

The delay order quick action lets your subscribers postpone their upcoming order with a single click from an order reminder email or SMS. Sometimes subscribers may want to receive their next subscription order a bit later without skipping it entirely. This quick action allows your subscribers to push the upcoming order by a chosen number of days, offering more flexibility without disrupting the subscription cycle.

Why use this quick action

When subscribers feel their upcoming order is coming too soon due to overstock, travel, or other short-term reasons, they may be tempted to cancel rather than manage their delivery timing themselves. The delay order quick action gives them a direct way to postpone their next delivery from an order reminder, without having to open customer portal and navigate to the order. This reduces cancellations caused by timing preferences rather than dissatisfaction with the product.

When to use this quick action

This quick action works well in these situations:

  • When an upcoming order reminder goes out and you want to give subscribers an easy way to delay their delivery

  • When a product is out of stock and you want to offer a delay as an alternative to cancelling

  • When you want to reduce cancellation requests driven by temporary overstock or changes in delivery timing
