The skip order quick action lets your subscribers skip an upcoming order with a single click from an email or SMS. This flexibility helps retain customers while giving them control over their orders. There are many reasons why a customer might need to skip, including running low on funds, relocating, or simply needing extra time between deliveries.
This article covers why to use it, how it works, how to set it up, the subscriber experience, and how to track performance.
Why use this quick action
When a subscriber needs to skip an upcoming order due to overstock or a short-term break, cancelling is often an overreaction to a temporary situation. The skip order quick action gives them a direct way to skip a single delivery from an email or SMS, without having to open customer portal and navigate to the order themselves. This helps reduce unnecessary cancellations and keeps subscribers active through periods when they do not need a delivery.
When to use this quick action
This quick action works well in these situations:
When a product is out of stock and you want to offer subscribers the option to skip rather than cancel
When an upcoming order reminder goes out and you want to include an easy skip option
When you want to reduce cancellations driven by temporary overstock or short-term breaks

Action keys
Loop auto-generates two action keys based on the action name you enter. You can find them on the quick action detail screen after saving:
Loop notifications key: used inside Loop email templates

These keys dynamically resolve into a personalized quick action URL for each subscriber.
How to create a skip order quick action
Navigate to Loop admin > Retain > Quick actions, then click Create a quick action.
Select Skip order as the action type.
Enter an Action name (internal use only). Loop uses this name to auto-generate your action keys.
Select the supported events where you want the quick action link to be available.
Click Save.
Where to use the quick action URL
Loop notifications
Add the Loop notifications key as a variable inside your Loop email templates. The variable dynamically generates a personalized URL for each subscriber.
Third-party tools
You can use the Klaviyo key in any tool integrated with Loop, such as Klaviyo, Attentive, Recart, or Omnisend. Add the key to your button URL so subscribers land directly on the skip flow.
Read How can you use quick actions in third-party tools like Klaviyo for setup steps.
Subscriber experience
When a subscriber clicks the skip order quick action link, they are taken to customer portal where the upcoming order is skipped. A confirmation is shown once the skip is processed.

You can track adoption and performance via analytics:
Clicks (link engagement)
