Shopify markets

Learn how to use Shopify markets with Loop for regional pricing.

Updated today

Loop supports Shopify markets across all major customer portal and BYOB touchpoints, ensuring brands selling in multiple regions show the correct market-specific pricing and availability everywhere it matters.

This article explains how to set up and manage Shopify markets in Loop, ensuring your international customers see the correct pricing and product availability across all touchpoints.

Shopify market feature is available exclusively on the Loop Pro plan.

What is Shopify markets?

Shopify markets lets you localize pricing and control product availability across regions (countries or groups of countries). You can set fixed prices per market, apply manual exchange rates, adjust prices by percentage, define rounding rules, and restrict which products are available in specific markets.

Why use Shopify markets with Loop?

Without Shopify markets, international customers see incorrect pricing on the customer portal. A subscriber in Germany might see prices in USD currency as USD is a store default currency instead of EUR, creating confusion around subscription costs.

Shopify markets ensures the correct price appears everywhere. When a customer in France swaps a product or upgrades their plan, they see the price you've set for their market in Shopify.

If you offer a product in the UK at Β£25 and the same product in Canada at CAD $40, each customer sees the right price without manual intervention.

How Loop handles Shopify markets

When you update a product price in Shopify, Loop runs an automatic sync to fetch the latest price. If changes are detected between the old and new prices, the prices in markets update automatically. Loop also syncs pricing and availability from Shopify markets every 24 hours. If you find a price hasn't updated, you can manually sync it using the Sync price button on the markets page.

When a customer acts on the portal, Loop detects their market from their shipping address and applies the correct pricing and availability.

Note: If you have manually set a price for a product in the market catalog, the sync will not be automatic when the product price is changed in Shopify. You must manually sync the price in this case.

Setting up Shopify markets in Loop

Once the feature is enabled on your store, a new markets page appears under the Products section in Loop admin. This page lets you view and manually re-sync prices for any country or region at any time.

The "Sync all prices" button lets you bulk-sync all product variants for all available countries instantly. You can also sync the price of a specific product variant for a given market rather than syncing all product prices.

Note: When using the markets feature, you may see a permissions scope page. Approve these permissions to get the feature working.

Supported customer portal touchpoints

Loop supports Shopify markets across all major customer portal touchpoints where pricing and product availability matter.

  • Upsell

  • Swap

  • Upgrades

  • Campaigns

  • Quick action

  • Build your own bundle (BYOB)

  • Create subscription flow

Customer portal experience

Let's understand the scenario with one example here.

A subscriber in Canada has an active subscription. Without Shopify markets enabled, when they try to swap a product on the customer portal, they see prices in USD (the store's default currency). This creates confusion because the subscriber expects to see CAD pricing.

With Shopify markets enabled, Loop detects the subscriber's market from their Canadian shipping address and shows prices in CAD when they swap products, matching the pricing configured for their market in Shopify.

Considerations

Consider the following when using Shopify markets with Loop

  • Fixed amount discounts: Fixed discounts added via Flows or bulk actions use live conversion rates from Shopify, not the manual rates configured for product pricing in markets.

  • Preset bundles: Multi-market support is not yet available for preset bundles.
