Run loyalty campaigns with Boosts

Temporarily multiply the credits your customers earn during sales and promotions.

Boosts let you temporarily multiply the credits or points that your customers earn on your existing loyalty programs, for example, 2x credits on every order during Black Friday week. When a boost ends, rewards return to normal automatically.

Creating a boost

A boost multiplies the credits or points customers earn on the loyalty programs you have already created in the Loyalty > Programs section. To create a boost, you can navigate to Loop admin > Loyalty > Boosts, then click Create boost.

Below are the fields you have to configure inside a boost:

Section

What to configure

Internal name

An internal name for your program

Conditions

Controls who the boost applies to. Click + Add condition, then choose a condition type. If you add none, the boost applies to everyone. Below are the conditions available:

1. Product based:

a. Products in order (any of): this applies the boost when the order includes at least one of the products you select.

b. Products not in order (any of): applies when the order includes none of the products you choose.

2. Customer based:

a. Customer type: you choose between active subscribers, non-active subscribers, and non-subscribers.

Programs to boost

In this section, you'll be able to see a list of all the active programs you have configured, except the referral program.

You can turn on the programs you want to boost and set a multiplier next to each program you turn on. You can boost more than one program, and each has its own multiplier. For milestone rewards with multiple milestones, only the latest reward is visible, but the multiplier applies to all of them equally.

Schedule

In this section, you can set the boost time window. You can either select Start immediately or set a start date and time. Then set an end date and time. This time will be taken in your store's local currency.

A boost with a future start time shows as Scheduled and goes live on its own.

Add buffer

A checkout buffer gives customers a short grace period after the boost ends.

Without it, a customer who starts checkout while the boost is live but finishes after the end time gets the normal rewards without the multiplier applied. With it, they still get the boosted rate if they complete that checkout within the buffer period.

Text

In this section, you have to configure the texts that appear across all the customer experience touchpoints.

Title text is the heading customers see. Description text is the supporting line under the heading where you can use variables. Multiplier text is the label that shows how much the credits are multiplied, such as 2x or 3x.

Customer experience

Once your boost is set up, you need to configure the customer experience for it - decide which touchpoints the boost should be visible in and how it is visible to the users. A boost can be live and reward the multiplied credits, but customers will not see it on a touchpoint unless that touchpoint is enabled.

To enable a touchpoint, navigate to Loop admin > Loyalty > Customer experience, and open the Boosts tab. There are five touchpoints, split between your storefront and your user portal.

Storefront

  • Home page banner: Shows a boost countdown as a banner on your store’s home page while the boost is live.

  • Product page block: Shows a boost countdown directly on the relevant product pages while the boost is live.

  • Checkout: Lets customers see an active boost’s credits and countdown inside the loyalty checkout block.

User portal

  • Customer portal banner: Shows a boost banner with a countdown on your customer portal while the boost is live.

  • Loyalty portal banner: Shows a boost banner with a countdown on your loyalty portal while the boost is live.

Each touchpoint is configured from its own settings page, which has the following sections in common:

Section

What to configure

Texts

The messaging customers see on the touchpoint, such as the countdown and final hour texts.

Styles

The color options for the touchpoint, so it matches your brand. Reset to default restores the original colors.

Status

Turns the touchpoint on or off for customers. Set it to Active to show the boost there.

Configure app block

Takes you to where you place the touchpoint. For storefront touchpoints, it opens the Shopify theme editor. For the home page banner and the product page block, a new element will be added. For checkout, the "Loop loyalty" block needs to be added.

For the customer portal banner, it opens the customer portal layout. For the loyalty portal banner, it opens the loyalty portal layout page.

Preview

Show a dynamic preview of the customer experience banner or blocks.

Redirection link: This is the page customers land on when they click the button on a boost banner. For example, the “Shop now” button on your home page banner can take customers to your main collection page. The setting is visible only on the touchpoints that include a button: the home page banner, customer portal banner, and loyalty portal banner.

Boost Performance

After a boost runs, you can see track how well it performed. Navigate to Loop admin > Loyalty > Boosts and look at the Revenue column in the boosts list. It shows the additional revenue generated from each boost, so you can compare boosts and decide which one worked well with your customers.

FAQs

Why is the multiplier on my Shopify product page different from the one I set up?

The product page block, checkout, and customer portal banner calculate the multiplier automatically from the programs running for that customer. If a customer qualifies for only some of the boosted programs, they see the total credits and the multiplier that applies to them.

The home page and the loyalty portal banners show the multiplier you entered in the boost setup.

Can I boost more than one program in a single boost?

Yes, you can turn on as many programs as you want in the same boost, and each program has its own multiplier.

What happens to rewards when a boost ends?

Once the boost time window is over, customers go back to earning at the normal rate of each program, and the boost touchpoints stop showing on your store and portals.
